I went all through high school with your Mom & Dad, we all chummed around together and attended each other’s weddings.  Then your Mom & I were in the Stratford Hospital together when I had Brian and she had you – two day’s apart – and two week’s early.  When you and Allison and Brian & Steve were all young, the two families rented a cottage on the beach in Ipperwash for two years in a row.  Lots of fun.  When you all were living in Sebringville, we still chummed around together and your Mom played volleyball with a bunch of us women and Squirt coached us.  We really weren’t all that good, but ended up winning first place in our division one year, before the young women started playing and would beat the daylights out of us.  When your Mom & Dad  moved to Atwood, we kind of lost touch.  I think we were only up to visit them once.  Now that we spend lots of time at our trailer in Bayfield and they are only down the road, we visit and play cards once again.  Hope this helps some.  Rosalie

The registration of the birth of Inez and Gladys, twins, on Feb. 20th, 1898. Father Jeffrey Brock Hilts is listed as an insurance agent – perhaps that’s how he and Norman met?birthgladysinez

Doing a bit of genealogy research and found the marriage certificate from the marriage of Norman and Inez. The details are hard to read – so for those who like the minutiae, Norman was 28 and Inez Ruby was 23, they are both listed as Catholic, Norman’s occupation is listed as Insurance Agent. The mother of the bride’s name is Florence Falaize and the father Jeffrey B. Hilts. The groom’s parents are John Kastner and Francis Buckley. The witnesses are Albert Kastner and Marion Rees. I love the category “Condition in Life” – Norman was a bachelor and Inez a “spinster”. Inez’s place of residence is listed as Toronto. Now I’d just like to know how they met!
